Stressful Time!

On Tues. afternoon we went to Spokane for Rudy’s Gammaknife on Wed. morning because we’d been told he had a new brain tumor. After they did MRI, we found out he actually has 2 new brain tumors.
We now have to wait a month for the next MRI to find out if Gammaknife and Avastin Infusions are working on the 2 new tumors.

It was a very long day for us and stressful!

I’m told God does not give us more than we can handle, but I’m beginning to wonder right now!

Stress!

How do you handle stress?

We’ve had almost 17 months of total stress since Rudy’s diagnosis of Glioblastoma Multiforme Stage 4 Brain Cancer. (GBM-4)

Each of us is handling it differently and it seems to be changing our family network. Emotions are very high, sadness and anger seems to be taking hold of all of us!

Right now we live one day at a time.

MRI report

We got the news that we were not expecting from MRI taken on July 26th. On July 28th Rudy’s medical oncologist told us that it was a fabulous scan and Avastin Infusions along with Temodar were doing great!

Then the next week we hear from Rudy’s Radiation Oncologist and he said he and Rudy’s Neurosurgeon had gone over the scans and there is a new tumor growing.

On Aug. 17th, Rudy will be having another Gammaknife procedure in Spokane, praying it stops the tumor from growing. Rudy is taking this news very hard.

Our 40th Anniversary

We celebrated our 40th Anniversary this year. Rudy and I were married on July 17th 1971, soon after he came home from serving in the Army as a Tanker in Viet Nam.

We wanted to make it special and invited family and friends to share the renewing of our wedding vows.

We had a great time with all that came, emotions were high and yet we had fun too! Hope all enjoyed the BBQ afterwards.

Thanking all who came from out of state, those who helped with preparations on the day and clean-up afterwards.

Baptism

We both were baptized today along with Rudy’s Auntie Mary and his sister Becky. Was a very emotional time for all of us.

New rose bush

For Mother’s Day Nee’ bought me a new rose bush to replace another of the roses that I lost this winter.

It has already started blooming!

The name of the rose is White Licorice, but looks yellow to me!

Still waiting for the 2 rose bushes Mom bought me to replace the other 2 rose bushes that had died this last winter.

Hope you all had a great day yesterday!

Mine started the same as it does any other holiday, baking, breakfast and then preparing food for the meal later in the day.

Received lovely gifts from everyone too! Rudy disappeared for awhile in the morning, as he was leaving, told me not to ask where he was going. As it turned out he was looking for flowers for me, but didn’t find any.

Was a great day spent with family.

Rudy’s MRI Results for April

We got the best news! Avastin is working great! the doctors are even surprised how well it’s working on the tumor.
Was the best news we could have received!
They are going to continue Temodar (chemo pill) 7 days on and 7 days off. Avastin infusions every other Friday on the week he’s on Temodar.
We’re praying it continues to work and he get’s some of his strength back.

Hope you all are having Easter with Family or Friends.

We cooked most of yesterday to have most done for today. Went to Sunrise Services at the Park along the Columbia River this morning. Was cold, but sure glad the wind was not blowing.

Gina, Nee’ and their families will be here soon! Mom’s already here.
