Life Goes On…

One Day at a Time

Petunias

18+ years ago we made a circular driveway in our front yard and added a circle in the center with petunias and marigolds in it. Then 16+ years ago, we planted a rose garden in the circle.

A couple years ago we removed the center rose bush and put in a flag pole. We transplanted the center bush into a half wine barrel, but the rose bush didn’t make it through this last winter.

Here’s what came up this year!

It’s hard to believe seeds can stay in the soil all of these years and then start growing!

Harvesting my garden

Yesterday, my bell peppers were finally large enough to pick for making stuffed bell peppers.

So I went out to my garden

I picked 4 large bell peppers

I took them in and made Rudy and Joe Stuffed Bell Peppers for dinner last night.

(These are the leftovers, forgot to take pic before they were served.)

I usually stuff and bake them whole, but this time I cut them in half, stuffed them and then put the extra stuffing around them and baked them. They said they really liked dinner!

Our Dec. Weather

It’s been warm for December here and the plants seem to be a bit confused!

My Violas are blooming again.

My vegetables are looking a little sad.

Cool night temps are taking a toll on the garden, going to have to harvest all of the tomatoes.

Grapes are ripe, but not many clusters of grapes this year. Not sure there’s enough to even try to make juice.

Fall colors are showing.

My Fall flowers are blooming and I’ve not gotten the dead heading of the summer blooms completed yet. It just may not get done either! I’m so slow these days.

Flowers

Can’t remember the name of these, but they are growing well this year. Won’t be long and they will be blooming.

Madi’s peanut plant is blooming!

Here’s the latest bloom:

The other day I noticed little yellow blooms coming out of the ground at the base of the peanut plant.

They are tiny and hard to see in the pic.
