Life Goes On…

One Day at a Time

Saying Goodbye to a friend!

Meg and Madi will be sad to know their little fish has passed away this morning.

dscn0343

I woke up this morning and fed the fish at 4am  like any other morning, only to see one is looking very sick! I moved him and barely saw  any life in him.

dscn0946

We all watched you grow from a little tiny fish into a rather large fish. You ended up being 5 1/2 inches long.

I got him to move for a little while, noticed he had a growth on side of his head. He swam back to the back of the aquarium and passed away.

dscn0948

Good-Bye our little friend, we will miss watching you swim around the aquarium.

dscn0949

Now we only have the large GoldFish and Algae Eater left to watch. It’s sad to lose a pet, even though they really are Meg and Madi’s fish. They had to leave them behind in WA in Oct. 06 when Marc moved them across the US to NJ.

Early Morning Visitor!

We had a visitor this morning! I was sitting at my computer going through emails when I heard a noise in the garage. Lucy was restless, so we went out the back door to see if it was just the wind blowing the garage door.

Wasn’t the wind! We met up with a huge Raccoon, it had eaten all of the cat food in the bucket, luckily it was almost empty and I’d not filled it yet. Lucy went crazy and chased it to the trees, barking and going crazy! Took me forever to get her back in the house.

Sorry, no pics, didn’t have my camera with me and it was dark outside.

Last week, we’d found the bucket tipped over too and Rudy had blamed Lucy for getting into the cat food, now I bet it was the Raccoon then too!

That was our morning at 4am!

Easter

Easter is sort of like a blur!

I cooked for two days for Easter Dinner. I made our traditional Easter Dinner of Ham, Potato Salad, Pasta Salad, and dinner rolls.

Easter Buckets that we fill every year for all of the kids. Easter cards that I made for the girls and my plant Gina got me for my birthday.

The kids came over for Easter Egg Hunt in our back yard, of course I didn’t do well taking pics. The kids running  so fast , with wind and rain, it wasn’t a good day for pics.

The whole group is behind the bushes by our barn, can’t see them very well. Told you I didn’t get good pics! :)

Four Things You Can’t Recover!

Four things you can’t recover:

The stone……..after the throw. The word…………after it’s said.

The occasion………after it’s missed. The time……..after it’s gone.

Before and After!

Here’s the light in our kitchen that has been falling apart and only working when it felt like working.

dscn0907

We had quite a time putting up the new light, it’s 4 inches longer and had to make sure the cupboard door by the light would go past the light and open all the way.

Here’s our new light.

dscn0908

We have one more to take down and a new one to put up. The new light is very bright, it’s like turning on the sun in my kitchen!

I hope Rudy puts up the other light soon!

Wind / Dust Storms

I’m very tired of the wind, when does it stop!

Yesterday I had to go to town for a doctor appt. Coming back from town the tumbleweeds were flying into my car, over my car and sand was beating against my car! We even got a little rain, but not enough to settle the dust!

dscn0900

I had to move all of these tumbleweeds so the Well Pump men could get to our well and work on it.

dscn08992

This morning I wake up to still wind!

I don’t like living here, the wind blows way too much! It’s been 25+ years of living here and I’ll never get used to the weather! I miss California!

This morning we had a very pretty sunrise :

dscn0901

That’s one thing I do like about living where we do, we get to see some very pretty sunrises and sunsets out here.
