I finally heard from my Neurosurgeon

Next Thursday my Pain Management doctor will go over the results of my scans with us. I hope they find out soon what is causing my problems and can help me.

Can’t see my Neurosurgeon until Dec. 4 for an appt.

He has ordered a C-Spine CT Scan this afternoon and hopefully Friday we’ll find out what’s causing the bad headaches and pain.

Been a rough few months with it getting worse for me.

There’s the possibility of more spinal surgery for me and I’m not looking forward to that again.

I’ll update when I know more.

It’s Friday Already!

Still no word from any of my doctors!

This waiting game is not in my agenda. Wonder when I’ll hear from them?

Wish doctors could be in pain and feel what their patients feel, then maybe they wouldn’t put you on the back burner and forget all about you.

Life shouldn’t be this way!

Been a busy week!

Rudy’s on his second week of swing shifts at work and with Jakob and Kaitie staying here, they’ve not seen him. I feel like all I do is fix meals and lunches all day long!

Trying to stay caught up with laundry and cleaning.

Went Monday and got my flu and pneumonia shots. Then yesterday the nurse called and said the flu vaccine they gave me was expired, so today I went and got a new flu shot. One good thing, no charge for either flu shot.

Rudy’s sick and sounds like others at work are sick also, sure hope I don’t catch what he has!

I didn’t get the news I was hoping for yesterday.

My bilateral branch blocks did not work. My Pain Management doctor went over my x-rays and MRI’s with my Neurosurgeon, luckily they share the same office.

My Pain Management doctor told me there’s a good possibility of more spinal surgery, the the disc on C-3 has moved more than expected (it’s just above my fusion of C-4 through C-7).

My Neurosurgeon and Orthopedic doctor will be discussing my case next week. So I’m on pins and needles here!

The Pain Management doctor will have to skip Step Two and go to Step Three, but it’s too tight in my upper neck to get the leads in for the Spinal Cord Stimulator leads to get up there, so if I have surgery, he’s hoping the leads can be put in then.

I was not expecting this at all yesterday, just more stress added. My headaches have worsened and pain in neck also.

My procedure for Pain Management yesterday.

My Pain Management doctor did  bilateral branch blocks on me yesterday morning to C-2 thought C-6. He numbed it, no sedation and then did the blocks. If it hurt as much as it did yesterday with numbing, I sure wouldn’t want to do it without numbing, that’s for sure!

He sent me home afterwards to do my normal routine. On  the spine Yahoo groups that I belong to online, everyone kept saying afterwards to rest, yet he told me to go home and resume my normal routine. I was very tired all day, so didn’t do as much as I should have.

The back of my head was numb all the way to my shoulders. Felt weird! I slept all night last night. Woke up this morning, numbness was gone. Was in less pain and no headache until about noon today, then it started being painful again. I have appt. in the morning to see my Pain Management doctor.

I’ve had doctor appts. every morning this week, except today. Was good just staying home today.
